August 13, 2010 Colourful November in Vienna! Choirs from the most different countries are going to attend the Franz Schubert Choir Competition and take their music culture to Austria. Where the dull, drab climate of European late falls otherwise is dominant, they will carry life, music and colours from the whole world into the city of Vienna.
Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Norway, Poland, Saudi-Arabia, Indonesia, Korea, Portugal, Croatia… This is only a selection of all countries from which one choir each will travel to Vienna to sing and dance with the others and to bring its music closer to everybody. And don’t forget: An Austrian choir will take part, too, and have a home game in its capital.
There was rarely such a particularly strong mix of cultures at one of the smaller INTERKULTUR events. And people don’t bring their own conventions and habits only, but also discover the most famous Austrian customs: The programme includes a visit at Vienna’s Christmas Market as well as a traditional “Heurigenabend” with plenty of music, dance, wine and singing. Variegated cultures from all corners of the world meet typical Austrian traditions. This is going to be exciting…
