October 24, 2010“4×4 Frauenchor der Pädagogischen Hochschule Heidelberg” from Germany with their conductor Heike Kiefner-Jesatko!

At the Grand Prize Competition in the concert hall “Neue Welt” in Zwickau they competed against seven other choirs. They convinced the jury with their powerful and diverting singing. Speechless and overwhelmed by this success the conductor accepted the price on stage, while their singers were cheering in the audience!

Furthermore, two conductors were awarded with a Conductor Prize: Edgars Vitols („LU FMF Jauktais Koris Aura“) from Latvia and Mikhail Slavkin (Youth Choir „PREOBRAJHENIE“) from Russia.

A special price for the best interpretation of a work by Robert Schumann was given to “4×4 Frauenchor der Pädagogischen Hochschule Heidelberg” from Germany, conducted by Heike Kiefner-Jesatko, too!

At the close of the event it became once again festive in the concert hall: Participants and visitors sang together a piece by Robert Schumann: “Beim Abschied zu singen” (“Sing to say goodbye”). This was the end of the 6th International Robert Schumann Choir Competition in 2010.

We congratulate all prize winners and thank all participant choirs for a great and successful event in Zwickau in 2010!
