One thing many of you are probably wondering: Who is coming to compete in the 1st Xinghai Prize International Choir Championships in Guangzhou, China? We’ve got the answer. Recently we introduced a choir from Indonesia to you; today we’re going to Europe: Pro Musica Chamber Choir from Gothenburg in Sweden will be there, too.
The choir is well-known in its home country, it even played a role in the Swedish movie “Till det som är vackert” (English title “Pure”), for whom in 2010 it recorded a part of Mozart’s “Requiem”, accompanied by Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. The requiem is a main theme in this movie, whose story is about the significance of music and how it is able to change a whole life.
Some people say that Pro Musica Chamber Choir is “Sweden’s best choir” and definitely they have a point, since you read what the daily newspaper “Göteborgs Posten” once wrote about them: “Choral singing, both technically and musically as close to perfection as imaginable!” But make up your own opinion and watch them performing “Cloudburst” by Eric Whitacre:
If you’d like to sing with Pro Musica Chamber Choir for the Xinghai Prize in China, find here all information about competition and registration. It’s still open through April 15, 2012!
