Many of you should know this situation: You’re travelling to a foreign country, don’t know the place and you need to find your way. Maybe you have appointments, need to find the right place on time, don’t speak the language and don’t know where to go, etc. It’s a challenge, not easy!

That’s what many participants in our choral competitions experience. When they arrive, they immediately have a packed schedule: Hotel check-in, registration at the festival office, stage rehearsals, competitions, friendship concerts, they always need to go from A to B. Easy to get lost though.

People in Wernigerode thought about this issue and therefore they recruit personal choir tutors for each participating group every year to welcome them at the arrival and accompany them wherever they need to go during the festival days. In doing so friendships for a life-time have already been created…

Currently the city is seeking choir tutors for this year’s 8th International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival and Competition; please find more info here (in German).

Those who’d like to register as participant can do this through February 28. All information can be found here.

For those of you who had already joined the event in Wernigerode before: How is your experience with choir tutors? Do you have exciting stories to tell? Send an e-mail to choirreporter@interkultur.com.
