ECG 2013: The final day is coming!

One of this week’s highlights in Graz has just finished, the International Festival Choir performed the famous “Messa da Requiem” by Giuseppe Verdi this evening.

The Budapest Academic Choral Society (Hungary), the World Festival Choir (Norway), the Inner Mongolia Youth Choir (China), the Indonesian Youth Cordana Choir as well as members of the groups Frankfurter Singakademie (Germany) Stimmen Bahás – Bahá’i-Chor Deutschland (Germany), Cantamus Girls’ Choir (Great Britain) and INTERKULTUR singers from Austria, Germany and Switzerland performed together in a choir of 200 singers, accompanied by the Dohnányi Orchester Budafok from Hungary. Conductor was Maestro Gábor Hollerung from Hungary, Artistic Director of the 1st European Choir Games 2013.

So directly after the concert he hurried off for the last jury meetings of the 1st European Choir Games 2013. They discussed the results of the last competition categories which were held this afternoon, before the concert started. So now – drumroll please – we have the best choirs from the Open Competition that were chosen to sing for the Styria Prize tomorrow:

Adelaide Chamber Singers, Australia
Inner Mongolia Youth Choir, China
Seisen High School Choir, Japan
Khorovaya Studiya Pioneria, Russia
Vox Singers, Poland

The Grand Prize Competition starts at 10am, the Awards Ceremony with the announcement of all results including European Choir Champions and Winner of the Styria Prize is begins at 12:30pm. Stay tuned!
