First Champions of the Asia Pacific Choir Games announced!

“Indonesia for the win!” could have been the motto of today’s Awards Ceremony of the Asia Pacific Choir Games 2013. All choirs learned the score they achieved in the competitions and the Category Winners of the Indonesian Open Competition and, of course, the Champions of the Asia Pacific Choir Games were announced.

Most winners came from the host country and the people’s cheering in the hall was crazy.

Champions of the Asia Pacific Choir Games are:

Category 1 – Children’s Choirs
Palu Children Choir PARENCHO, Indonesia
(conducted by Steven R. Mait & Hariady Indra Mantong)

Category 3 – Mixed Youth Choirs
Gema Sangkakala Youth Choir, Indonesia
(conducted by Ivan Larry Besouw)

Category 7 – Female Choirs

Vox Angelica Female Choir, Indonesia
(conducted by Hermantika Sinapa)

Category 9 – Male Choirs
Vox Angelica Male Choir, Indonesia
(conducted by Maichel R. Wangengetan)

In the morning the best choirs from the Indonesian Open Competition had sung for the Grand Prize.
The winner is Diocesan School Old Boys’ Association Choir from China/Hongkong SAR, conducted by Ronnie Kay Yen Cheng. Congratulations!

And here are the Category Winners from the Indonesian Open Competition:

Tomorrow choirs will start in the second half of Indonesian Open and Champions Competitions.
