On July 13 The Great Celebration Concert of the World Choir Games 2014 will take place on the huge Open Air stage of Mezaparks. Thousands of Latvian and international singers will come together to sing traditional Lavian folk songs, among others.

In these weeks, choirs from Latvia come together all over the country at joint rehearsals for this special concert. Yesterday, the choirs from Sigulda region met for the last time before they’ll join all other choirs on the Mezaparks stage on July 13 – we were special guests at this rehearsal! I was there together with Ralf Eisenbeiß (Artistic Director) to listen to them. It was a joy and a nice preview of what’s about to come in just a few weeks!

Conductor at this rehearsal was Romans Vanags, Artistic Director of the World Choir Games 2014 in Latvia. Watch this video and hear the choirs singing “My Song” by Eriks Esenvalds, the Official Song of the World Choir Games 2014:

I’m looking forward to seeing you all on stage in July!
