Singakademie Graz at the World Choir Games 2008

It’s time again on Wednesday! A 36-headed group of the Singakademie Graz starts expectantly towards Riga to be part of the 8th WCG!

The first time we took part at the World Choir Games 2008 in our home town Graz. This time it will already be the fourth WCG we participate in. However, because our choir consists almost entirely out of students of the HIB Liebenau, there are just five singers (including me) who may experience this wonderful and unique atmosphere of the World Choir Games for the fourth time.

So it is quite clear that our youngest singers are very excited and looking forward to this journey. But in regard to the two upcoming competitions – of course – with mixed feelings. It would be nice of course to follow in the footsteps of the previous generation and perhaps take a medal with us home. We have practiced hardworking like probably all the other participating choirs, too. Now we have to convince the jury. We will do our best and hope for the best!!!!

There is one thing I already know: we will discover all kinds of new things, experience unforgettable moments, gather a lot of (multicultural) experiences, meet many nice, open-minded people and make countless friends!!

Thanks to INTERKULTUR and especially our choir director Maria Fürntratt we can say tomorrow: Let’s go to the “Land of Songs”!!!
